Description
Troxerutin is a water-soluble hydroxyethyl derivative of rutin, developed to overcome rutin’s poor usability in aqueous formats. Hydroxyethyl groups (mainly on the rhamnose ring) increase polarity while retaining the quercetin aglycone’s flavonoid bioactivity (antioxidant, MMP-modulating, venotonic signals).
Two distinct commercial channels:
European Venotonic / Microcirculation (B2B nutra/pharma): Troxerutin is the fourth member of the classic “Diosmin + Hesperidin + Rutin + Troxerutin” Euro phlebology stack — chronic venous insufficiency, hemorrhoids, capillary fragility. Water solubility enables oral liquids/sachets/plain rutin can’t manage.
China-Export Pharma (Cerebrovascular): ChP monograph “Troxerutin” and “Troxerutin and Sodium Chloride Injection” — upstream API for ischemic cerebrovascular disease, post-stroke adjunctive, retinal vessel occlusion. Largest single-tonnage channel globally for 7085-55-4.
Applications

Venotonic & Microcirculation – CVI, hemorrhoid flare, capillary fragility; blended Diosmin + Hesperidin + Rutin + Troxerutin (Euro phlebology archetype); oral tablets, sachets, liquids
Cerebrovascular Pharma (China export) – Troxerutin API (ChP), Troxerutin + NaCl injection, ischemic stroke adjunctive, retinal vessel occlusion; EP/USP grade available
Antioxidant Nutra – water-dispersible flavonoid, often with vitamin C / rutin / quercetin in “microcirculation + antioxidant” DTC SKUs
Cosmeceutical – INCI Troxerutin, water-soluble rutin derivative, antioxidant soothing; “Rutin + Troxerutin” dual-flavonoid in serums
Reference Standard / R&D – ≥95% HPLC
